First training at the Visitor Experience

News w/c 19 July 2019

As final touches were made to the highly anticipated Visitor Experience, a brand new Medical Simulation Centre was used for the first time by doctors and nurses from all over the state.

The one-day course was a collaboration between the Dubbo Base Hospital Anaesthetics Department and the Flying Doctor, and put the new facilities to the test using high-fidelity simulations with patient models.

Technical training using real-life situations and scenarios will soon be common place at the training centre which also houses medical and flight-training facilities.

But training is just one part of the Dubbo Flying Doctor multipurpose centre which also contains the state-of-the-art Visitor Experience.

Anticipation is building for the Visitor Experience, which will open soon, as a place where people from all over the state, country and the globe can experience Australia through different eyes.

Inside the centre, you’ll experience the spirit of Australia’s outback via a number of mediums including medical and aviation equipment, a decommissioned aircraft, multimedia, and augmented reality.
